Concept of Qualification
The qualification concept of the RTG is based on three balanced core elements and on the MIN Faculty's supervision agreement (Betreuungsvereinbarung) for doctoral projects. Besides a detailed, tailor-made qualification program for each doctoral student, we will also contribute to the complementary qualification of postgraduate students and network the RTG with adjacent education, qualification and research sectors. The qualification program will ensure the sustained involvements of the doctoral students in the RTG network by interdisciplinary education, individual qualification and leading-edge research.
In the spirit of the leitmotif, our well elaborated qualification concept enables the RTG students to perform application inspired research in MSO mathematics and speak the scientific languages of MSO (Modeling/Simulation/Optimization) mathematics and the related applications. At the same time the RTG provides the students with general skills which are useful for all kinds of academic and non academic careers.
The educational profile of the RTG and the training to work in interdisciplinary teams provides qualifications which are highly appreciated inside and outside academia, and will generate long term benefits.
